Best thing we ever bought. Really expensive but you will soon be telling everyone how it is worth every penny, I promise...

    Hi Elizabeth,
We too have got some vet bed for our new pup who we will be choosing in a few weeks!
I actually ordered a large piece (100x75cm i think) from Zooplus last night for just over £14. It is the original Petlife vetbed, non slip and is black with white paw prints.
It is well worth shopping around as I have found the price to vary a lot from site to site.

    Hi
Yes it was, kicking myself for not getting 2 bits now!
I got 2 smaller bits 91x61 which fit the crate perfectly for £17.50 each from petstuffgalore which i thought was a good price until i found this on Zooplus!

You can just cut your vetbed into whatever size pieces you need. We cut ours in half - one half is in the boot of the car, one half is his normal bed (and during the day his favourite chew toy).

Ooh I have been looking at that exact supplier on Ebay, a very good price. Whats underneath Tatze's bed Mags? x :) I am hoping it will be good enough to line plastic dog beds :-\

I have never heard of vet bed before so I'm glad I peeked in this thread! Recommended for a puppy? I plan to crate train so I bought a cheaper small bed that I imagined would eventually be torn to shreds. I like the idea that you can cut this into sections!

And oh my Mags is Tatze gorgeous!

    Re: Bedding

Definitely Vet bed ::) He got the stern voice "Did you do that?!!" and he did lower his head so he did seem to realise i was not pleased, usually his tail goes and it's like Look what i did Mum aren't you pleased with me! I have more of it but i'll keep it till i see how he gets on with this bit over the next week. It is really strong as we tried to cut it with scissors and had to give up and get a Stanley knife to cut it!
I had to go to shops and he was put in his crate for an hour and i came back and he was curled up sleeping on it so hopefully he'll get fed up trying to destroy it and realise that this is comfier than the plastic floor. So for the first night its Nevis 1 Vet bed 0 ;D

That's a Tuffie wipe clean bed - but vet bed is great for crates, plastic beds, just on the floor etc :)

Bruer - my friend's lab is a bed chewer - but she finds he doesn't chew the non-slip stuff. Also try spraying the edges with bitter apple spray.

I leave a nylabone in with tatze for chewing if she wakes and is bored :)

Yes we have a nylabone in overnight for his amusement. I'm not going to be disheartened as the damage he did was quite minimal for his standards ;D
