Yes....we were having a debate as to whether to allow Lilly to lick clean the chicken and gravy dish I warmed our roast in.
It was 2 against 1 - sorry Lilly

Brilliant! Our Bensons have something in common!

Hubby handed me a cat food bowl that was on the side in the kitchen and asked if it was clean? (I had picked it up of the floor earlier)..so clean it was shining...I said..definately washed on a Benson-cycle! ;D ;D

Milly is with Benson and really thinks we should be a fully green house. She has a good go at any possible chance :)

This made me chuckle. I had pasta at the weekend and due to me being lazy on the sofa, I'd saved Chip some so just allowed him to eat it there & then (I usually decant leftovers into his bowl).... my o/h made wretching noises and was disgusted I let him eat from our plates, which I thought was hilarious and Chip ignored while he chased the bowl round the wooden floor! It goes in the dishwasher & gets sterilised, its not like I put it straight back in the cupboard!!

Kate, your hubby will possibly be shocked to learn that that fork he is eating with has been in other human's mouths. And the spoon. And the knife as well! Mugs, glasses - those too! ;D

All our friends now accept that our dog gets to lick cooking bowls and pots after dinner. The friends that object to this have been weeded out or else are too scared to speak up. With new people we always preface it with "Would you be disgusted out of your minds if we gave the dog the Le Creuset?".

This is absolutely banned in our house - dogs do not touch plates or anything else. Not because of hygiene (it's much worse that Charlie licks our ears, than licks a plate) but because it would be absolutely uncontrollable. We'd never eat without a Labrador mugging us! At first, before the ban was in place, there was a Labrador in the dishwasher when we were stacking it!

The dishwasher opens, and Charlie goes to his mat - then gets a seabiscuit after each rack is loaded. I reckon he thinks it's a fair deal.

Now that is not a bad idea....then I could pop the dishwasher on a shorter wash maybe? After all they would be practically spotless! ;D
