I don't know if anyone else has ever seen their dog do this but Inca has just gathered the blanket on her bed into a little pile as though she was building a nest and then weeed on it. She did this once when she was a tiny puppy and I just ignored it as part of housetraining. She's now 6 months old and hasn't had any accidents at all in the last month so it just seems a bit of a strange thing to do. Especially when it's the blanket she chooses to sleep on most of the time.
Re: Bit of an odd one Not had that one; Mira does rake up the blanket and lie on the heap, but no weeing! When she was about 18 months we had some family coming and I put a spare mattress on the floor for my great-nephew. Mira wandered into the room as I left it for maybe 30 seconds and when I came back to put the bedding on it I discovered she had done a wee right in the middle of it! Quite bizarre
Re: Bit of an odd one I honestly don't know, although i've heard they like to pee on fabric/carpet type stuff rather than plain floors? I found what I think was a wee in my pup's CRATE the other day, NOT after she had been confined, but after she was loose and wandered in there and then out again (with door open the whole time). I was like… WHY WOULD YOU JUST GO IN THERE TO PEE? So she's had to make do with blankets and towels right now rather than her pillow, because she peed on her pillow and I'm spraying and airing it out a lot with enzymatic cleaner to make sure it doesn't smell good to do it again . I think if it's not happening a lot put it down to a one off and just a weirdo puppy thing.
Re: Bit of an odd one I had a big think about it last night and we had a plumber in yesterday so I'm wondering if it's a reaction to having him wandering in and out all day. She's maybe feeling a bit territorial. Hopefully she won't feel the need to do it again!

Re: Bit of an odd one It is easy to miss the first season with some pups, some do not show at all but change their behaviour. Indie is now 14 months old and has not had a proper season ( that we had noticed ), but her behaviour has changed this week. Watch this space
Re: Bit of an odd one My first thought was also that she may be coming in to season - bitches often start to urinate in the house as one of the first signs this is happening, and she would be about the right age.
Re: Bit of an odd one Yes, it is incredibly easy to miss a first season , blood loss is often very light indeed and most bitches are very good at keeping themselves clean . Frequent urination , slight loss of appetite and a tendency to be clingy are often signs, plus a slight swelling of the vulva , keep a close watch
Re: Bit of an odd one Thanks for giving me an idea of what to look out for. Keeping a very close eye on her! She hasn't urinated in the house since then but I would definitely say she seems more restless than normal.
