My 12 month old black lab has started to get a red coulor in coat.

My eldest one has this too in patches all over. He's moulting at the moment so I put it down to dead hair/undercoat. Youngest one doesn't seem to get it but he has a different coat, much courser hair.

Yes, my dog gets this in the summer. I think it’s twofold, she’s out in the sun and she moults so it’s her brownish undercoat popping through.

Hi, yes she has in the last few weeks we have spent a lot of time on the beach.
I did think it was sun bleaching but I know other owners of black labs and it's not happened to them but she loves being in the sea so it could be a combination of sea and sun.

I should think it is the combination then of the sea and the sun and possibly the old coat, give a good brush and comb and see if any dead hairs come out.
