my lab has two places on her face, right along the sides of her mouth. she also has pimples around the bottom of her chin. she doesn't scratch at this and I have been washing it with Burt's Bees hypoallergenic wipes and Curaseb a anti -yeast anti -bacterial anti- fungal wash. I didn't know what to do with this. I am wondering if there is something to put on this to help moisture in the skin. I would appreciate any help with this issue. thanks puppy mom
Why not take him to the vet to find out what it is? My pup had missing hair on the side of his nose and I thought it was due to him scratching it off or something. It didn’t look too bad so we kept off the vet visit for almost a month because it didn’t look bad and he was acting fine. We ended up taking him in eventually and it was a parasite he got from his mom through birth and he needed medicine to get rid of it. Of course I’m not saying that is what your dog has, but the vet would be able to tell you what it is and give you medicine to treat it.
Hi, My black lab is 19 months old and other than this she hasn't had any issues. I have to admit though that I have never had a lab and I know nothing about what they get. she is very healthy and happy. she doesn't scratch at this and I think your right. I will call the Vet and get her back in again. thank you for your suggestions. would you know how to post a picture of her on here. I can't seem to figure out how to do that. thank you Puppy mom of twosocks
Dogs can get acne, especially during adolescence: https://www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/skin/c_dg_acne That might explain the pimples, but not sure about the dry patches...
Hi, thank you for your reply. The pimples seem to be clearing up. also the hair on the side of cheek, not sure if it was just dry skin or what. Vet said to keep a watch on it. I really like this site. It is helpful to have someone to talk to about my puppy. I am still trying to learn on to post a picture of her. I haven't had any luck . thank you puppy mom
