    Hi,

My dog ripped her dew claw off a couple of days ago. As a result of the stress of removing she had diarrhoea started early hours this morning. However there was bright fresh blood in her loose stool and as her stool is hardening she is still bleeding fresh blood. I know its been less than 24hrs and I plan to take her to vets tomorrow but I would just like to know how common this Is?

    Thanks

    Yasmin

Hi Yasmin, I wouldn't say this is a normal reaction. Not the blood at any rate.
If it is loose and containing blood then it's definitely a vet job.
OK, so could be stress, but the vet would need to rule out a gut infection, or a colitis - the latter can certainly be caused by stress, but definitely not to be assumed.
Hope your vet can put your mind at rest tomorrow.
