Does anyone have any recommendations for books or videos about learning canine massage techniques for relaxation? No crystals, healing thoughts or hocum, just techniques and patterns, that kind of thing.

Have you thought about a DVD as a well as a book? I have had this site recommended to me, it was actually for dogboots when Benson had his foot problem recently. Natalie runs courses and has a DVD specifically for owners and their dogs. She is supposed to be very good. I am considering the DVD myself as I do a lot of massage for Casper.

I got the preview of Canine Massage a couple of weeks ago, but I tuned out when I read, "If he feels nervous or impatient, often a dog will move away. If this happens, do not hesitate to use firm commands to calm him, and when he obeys, praise him."

It sounds a bit "You will stay here and do as you're told, whether you like it or not!" o_O

Don't do much take notice of that kind of stuff just like the diagrams take what's useful to me and ditch the rest you would not believe some of the stuff I've looked over the years and thought yeah right
