Hi, I buy a Bravecto chewable tablet for Hunter from the vets every 3 months for fleas and ticks, and milprazon every month for worms. It's a bit of a hassle going there every month, and also expensive. I was wondering if there is something similar I can buy online without a prescription that is as effective as those two? We're in the UK. Thanks, Andrea
I give Meg drontal every 3 months for worms. I used to get it from the vet but now buy it online (no prescription) much cheaper. I don’t routinely use a preventative treatment for flees and ticks. I only treat if I see a flee, which has been once in 6 years. We don’t live in a very tick prone area, so no need but it might be different for you .
Ah thanks for your reply. We cant use drontal because we live in a lungworm risk area, I guess that's why I have to buy it on prescription. I was bit by a tick last summer too so I can't risk not treating H for those either.
Our vet has a Pet Health club. I pay 15 per month and pick up his worming/tick/ flea treatment every 3 months( 3 monthly ticks and monthly wormer which includes lungworm) The plan includes a 6 month health check( which I tend to use when I want to see about something else) annual booster, nail trim and money off other medications. It seems to be good value for money.
You can ask your vets to give you the prescription (usually a small charge) then it's about half the price on websites like pet drugs online
