Is it possible/advisable to buy a puppy in the current crisis?

Hi sophiesdad, welcome to the forum!

As to possible, this depends where you are. Where I'm based (in the UK) collecting a new puppy is classed as a non-essential journey and prohibited under the current terms of the lock down. You'll need to check the local rules where you are.

As to advisable - Pippa has just written a new article about that, and you can read it here.

    Best wishes, Sarah

I just got my boy March 20th and honestly the original breeder was about 3 hours from me. When things started to go south not just with the pandemic but the original breeder could not guarantee some if the important things I wanted or needed that is when I sat my family down to discuss what were my next steps?

Honestly I am so fortunate I made the decision to go with Sully's breeder and it all worked out. He was flown to me from Saskatchewan out of Calgary to Toronto Ontario for me to collect. The original breeder won't even be able to socialize any of her puppies properly. Sully had already been socialized, exposed, etc.

    Just think of that too.
Yes non essential travel is banned here in Canada.
