Re: Cable tidies? You need to get something really strong (Harley chewed through a phone charger wire, luckily it wasn't plugged in!) or get them embedded in the walls
Re: Cable tidies? Plastic cable tidies are not very strong - a puppy's teeth will make short work of them. We put cables out of reach, or ran them behind the furniture. In some cases I made temprary covers out of old bits of wood and floorboard. It was a bit unsightly but when Holly grew up we removed most of the covers.
Re: Cable tidies? My dad bought me this cable tidy from homebase, it has been quite good, Otis didnt chew it at all, and he has had a go at most things, and I really mean most things. You could try one, x
Re: Cable tidies? We just draped all cables out of reach over the furniture until he grew out of it! We also used the 'chew deterrent' spray from Pets at Home, which worked brilliantly well for us. We were lucky, though - Pongo's chewing phase only lasted a few weeks. (Except for OH's croc shoes.)
Re: Cable tidies? I would wait and see if she is a "chewer" or not!! I've not worried about cables as Maisie has shown no interest in them at all. I just make sure the kids put away their gaming stuff! In fact, she hasn't chewed anything in the house! Makes up for the early mornings : I'm sure I'll find a whole in something tomorrow morning now 8)
Re: Cable tidies? Not sure if Kenzi simply isn't a major chewer but most of my cables are out of reach(blocked off by furniture), any that are when she was 8-10weeks whenever she went near I just made a loud Ahhhh, No or AWAY and she stopped and moved on. Again though not sure if she's just not a chewer and I got a bit lucky in that respect.
Re: Cable tidies? Yes, I should have added that. When Pongo did make an attempt to chew any sort of cable, we were very quick and and firm with a 'NO!'. He learned very quickly that cables weren't toys.
Re: Cable tidies? I had some massively strong plastic tubing - reinforced PVC hose - that I used for anti chafe of mooring lines on a boat. Slit it, stuffed the cables it and it sprung back together. Looks better than the messy cables! You can get it cheaply on line from a place called Jimmy Green.
