Hello , and welcome to the forum . I`m sorry to hear about the ear issues , and sorry that I haven't had any personal experience of the operation . If you are in the UK , there are a couple of charities that can help with costs , PDSA and the Blue Cross , the latter only if you live near to one of their hospitals . Labradors often have ear problems due to their ear flaps covering the entrance to the ear and not allowing a flow of air , making the area moist and warm , ideal for bacteria to grow . I really hope there is some help available for your daughter .

I know someone whose Lab had his ear canal removed. He was left deaf in that ear but he was no longer in pain, scratching at it, oozing infection. It was a success. Is that what is contemplated for your daughter's Lab? Yes, it was expensive.

The op is usually very effective, but I can understand the worry about the cost of the op. Maybe the vet would let you pay in weekly/monthly instalments if you asked them first?
