Hi Does anyone know of any Labrador meetings at Cannock chase? We have a 3 month old who we would like to get socialising with other labradors.
Hi, and welcome to the forum. Over the years I've seen walks organised by dog trainers as a way of socialising their dogs, but I've not seen any organised walks for a single breed. If you can't find any organised walks then why not start one? There could be other forum members in the area who would like to meet for a walk. There's a group of us who live in Severnside who met through the forum two years ago and meet for monthly walks. It's great fun!
I live West Brom way but work by Cannock Chase so would definately be up for bringing Thor along. My friend is also due to get a lab so im sure she'd be up for it
Hi, I'm in Nuneaton, we've been once to Cannock chase but as we have excellent woods and open fields on our doorstep we haven't been back again. Maybe there's potential for a Midlands walking group?
I must say if there was a meet up around those areas I would soo travel to meet up with some forum buddies, I travel regulalry to north wales which is about same time wise and comfortable to travel with Rolo!
Gosh @Jyssica that's a bit of a trek! That's commitment!! There might be the beginnings of a Midlands group then....
Haha I regularly travel to north wales stopping along the way for fab walks, and i travel a lot for work so its second nature to me! I am keen to give Rolo lots of fab experiences and also, there is no one up north really! When i looked at the members map im sooo far away! You have to go out of your way for the fun stuff! Ive been thinking of asking if the lakes was a good meeting point for anyone but even so there arnet many near the lakes by the looks of it!
We tend to go for woodland trails with little streams which are plentiful round here. I'll do a bit of exploring a bit further afield, maybe north of Tamworth.
Monty's vet is in Appelby magna, just past twycross zoo, I'm there every other Saturday more or less.
I can get about and stuff but I don't drive. my oh gives Me lifts though. I know central Leicestershire best
My usual ones are a bit mm urban but there are some good ones more rural. The national forest walks are good
Honestly I have neglected to do any sort of further searching for a walk for the Midlands....but I am happy to 'co-ordinate' a walk to meet up near me which I know is a very safe off lead woodland walk with a few streams and a pool close to a pub in Bentley Woods nr. Atherstone / Ridge Lane. My personal restriction is that Monty can only really walk for up to an hour and 20 minutes in one go - so accept that's not enough for some - however this walk offers a number of circular trips so anyone wanting more could hop back in the woods for another hour if you wanted more, taking a different route. It's close to the A5, (and M6, M42 exits) , so if you are interested, let me know and I'll try and co-ordinate a meeting on a weekend in August (pref after 10.00 Sundays!)
A short walk would work for me because I would have to be delivered and my Oh won't dog walk so I usually send him off some where. Moo my elderly girl could manage that long too. Im very shy and not very outward going but I think it would do me good so I'm going to be brave and say yes I'm committed to coming if I can. Your woodland walk sounds good. I know you have to be careful with Monty.
