Mella is now 16 weeks and thriving on Royal Canin Puppy food having reached 10Kg so is obviously getting everything she needs from it. However, I think it's about time we started introducing some (leftover) meat and veg to her diet as we did with our last Lab but how does one know just how much is enough or not enough? With the Royal we just measure it out each time but you can't really do that with bits and pieces. My thoughts are just to add the bits in addition to the regulated Canin food. Any thought please?
Re: Changing diet I also add bits to my dogs kibble meals, sometimes raw, sometimes cooked but I always reduce the kibble to take any addition into account, otherwise you run the risk of too much weight gain
Re: Changing diet If I give Harley any extras, I always reduce her food allowance. We have had to stop all of Harley's 'extras' as her tummy has been really poorly. She has been on chicken and rice for 2 weeks - just waiting on test results. I would introduce one thing at a time to make sure her tummy is ok with it
Re: Changing diet Yes Jackie we have a vets appointment tomorrow night to get her test results etc. just starting a new thread about it all.
