Last week whilst I was grooming Charlie I found a lump on his ribcage area but not attached and it moved around when I touched it. Off to the Vet this morning where Charlie had a needle biopsy done, first time not enough was taken so she had to try again. The Vet looked under the microscope whilst we waited and thankfully nothing to worry about it's just a fatty lump - thank goodness I'm so relieved :D

Charlie was 100% a star and only cried a tiny bit on the second attempt :( He sat in the waiting room with dogs, cats and a tortoise, he passed 4 dogs on the way out and he walked on a slack lead whilst all the other dogs were pulling/lunging to get to him. Very proud of my man!! xxx :)

Great that the lump is nothing to worry about - what a relief for you. How good to have it tested then and there too. And Charlie sounds like a star!

Oh what a relief that the lump is nothing to worry about, and what a star Charlie was at the Vet - think he deserves a special treat after being so brave and good :D

Well done, Charlie! What a relief for you, too, to know that it's just a fatty lump.

Aw thanks everyone, yes a huge relief, I was very worried (no surprises there ) because it was on his rib cage area. We are extremely lucky to have such an excellent vet and equipment to do the biopsy and give the results on the spot :) xx

Charlie was such a brave soldier.

I'm glad the lump turned out to be nothing to worry about Helen and you found out straight away so no waiting and worrying for results. I would just keep my eye on it, check it every so often when you groom him. Murphy had a fatty lump for years which eventually got infected. It got bigger and burst !!! Unlike Charlie the vet had never bothered to do a biopsy when it was small so when it got big they removed it because they didn't know what it was and it looked dodgey. Had they known it was just a fatty lump it would have been treated with a course of antibiotics so nothing to worry about.

I will definitely keep an eye on it because of the location of the lump. The Vet didn't give him any antibiotics though. Thanks Jen x :)
