Charlie was fine last night after he had his dinner, ate breakfast this morning and played with Hattie so all good. He had a really runny poo on his walk today. David thinks he may have scavanged something in the woods but can't be sure. I have just given him his kibble with some raw chicken wings and he won't even get out of his bed. He looks so miserable, this is all very unusual all round for Charlie :( Could it be a bug? xx

Do you think the tuna flakes in the bowl trick might help?

I hope he's ok it does sound worrying though. I hate when they don't eat, poor boy. Moo was like that before Christmas when she picked up a bug.

If dogs don't want food it shows they are not well. If David thinks he scavenged something then that may well be the problem or it could be a bug. I think watch and wait for a wee while, if he gets worse this evening, phone vet for advice, otherwise see how he is tomorrow.

Such a worry when our dogs are down. If it were me I'd see how he is in the morning, which takes him to 24hrs since his last meal. And try the tuna flake trick in the water.

Rory too! Hope both dogs pick up over night xx

We have been to the emergency vet, not taking any chances as Charlie managed to get out of his bed and layed by the back door but found it difficult to get up. He was shaking, drewlling, he is holding his head low down. My first worry was poison but to be honest Charlie really isn't a scavenger, his gums are a healthy colour so she ruled that out. He doesn't pick up sticks etc. so not sure how something could be obstructing his throat. The vet checked him over thoroughly, felt his throat but she wonders if it's physical, maybe he ran into something and he's damaged his throat. She gave him Metacam and AB shots and we have to go back at 9.00 am for either a scope, xrays or full CT scan to see if there's anything stuck in his throat or something else going on. Charlie is in bed but he seriously does not look well. One of us is going to sleep with him tonight and if he declines we have to take him straight back in. I am so worried, I can't stand it :(:( xx

Poor Charlie and poor you. I hope the metacam and antibiotics help, but it would be good to know what's wrong. Hope he improves soon.

Oh dear, what a worrying time you are having, I can understand how you feel and it is hell isn't it. Don't forget the vet is there and if you are at all concerned during the night you can phone. I do hope the Metacam will help, the antibiotics will take longer, my thoughts are with you tonight xx
