Took a few photos whilst we were there..some really interesting talks, two we really enjoyed were clicker gundog training with Pippa Williams, and socialising your gun dog with Adem Fehmi.
The gundogs displays were fabulous, really inspirational. Loads to do, the whole site was HUGE, literally you need 2 days to get around everything.

Next year the CLA is being hosted at Ragley Hall, near Alcester in Warwickshire, 29th - 31st July..:)

Lovely photos, Kate! Did you take your two? I'm really excited about being able to go to an event like this at some point in the future.

Ah Kate I was sorry I missed you....we did the Friday and Saturday but then we went to Chris's Village Fair on the Sunday which was fun ....just in a different way did Marcus get around ok?the weather really broke on the Saturday so I bet Sunday was muddy!
I loved watching the gun dog demos.Phillipa Williams Retreiver demo was great,I watched her both days and her clicker demo at the KC stand. The KC stand was decorated rather amazingingly too might I add with a huge standing board of one of Heidrun's photos of Obi spaniel! The Clumbers were something to see, their demo started with a full walk around of the arena of all the group including Barbara and Obi...I think even Riley was an honorary Clumber on Saturday and got to join in with his little Bro!
I got to catch with Barbara and her family, all,of them human and canine.I met Heidrun and the wonderful Ziggy ....he is even more handsome in real life and got a quick tutorial from Heidrun about my stop whilst woes! Thank you xxx
I also got to meet Kath and family with super Merla, she is a little pocket rocket and was being such a good girl in such a busy environment...think she Had quite a crush on Riley and he seemed to be enjoying the attention too!
Camels were distributed so the 'Network' grows in strength folks.....sadly Benson and Casper couldn't take delivery of theirs as we didn't manage to meet but maybe that's for the best....too many additions at the same time may have resulted in major Lambie mischief!I'll keep theirs safe until another time!
Lots of shopping....like lots!so much for Dexter, his big favourite being a floating duck dummy that he's been using in the pool,he looks really professional swimming with it! I got other dummies and even a pheasant feathered one that he won't get much of a chance with.....it's just going to be about my person for any deer distraction situations that we may meet in the desert!
I've got photos of everyone but won't put them up,not everyone likes seeing them selves I know ...but let me know if it's ok and I'll put some up later xxx

OK, talk of the 2016 Game Fair is my cue to get off my butt and sort out the pics from 2015!! I relied on OH for pics, so I don't have any of lovely Gundog displays unfortunately (plenty of the lumberjack display, super cars and 4x4s.....anyone....??.....thought not!!) but I do have a few of my daughter, me and Merla playing at the scurries. Our favourite, as last year, was the 'scramble' - a mix of Gundog and agility skills. It started with a mini obstacle retrieve
    [IMG]
Then there was a tunnel, a 'kissing gate' for dog and handler to go through, an agility-style high walk (don't know the proper name), a sprint back to where you began (ahem!!)
And finally a marked retrieve into the pen you can see behind me.

My times were respectable but nothing near the top. My daughter beat me hands-down, due partly to superior sprinting skills but in no small part due to calm, clear handling, and she came away with a lovely rosette and trophy on the Saturday for fastest junior time on that scurry!

Lots of points to Merla for lovely attention on her handler

    Charlie didn't get to go.....:(

But he still got a camel. :)

He sucks the tail and chews the label. Or, is he whispering into a transmitter?!!!

The other yellow was number 38 (Scotland), then there was a gorgeous black, and a red fox. I have all the other kennel names if you are interested :)

Cheers, Kate! Impressive sleuthing. No, it was just that dog. Thanks very much.

    Blooming stunning dog that!

CLA was great fun. Hard work with two dogs, a three year old. Luckily the husband did sterling work and we availed ourselves of the dog creche facilities too. Lovely to see everyone!!!! Next year I think I'll be dog and family free for a day and just enjoy watching the experts at work :)
