i have started doing this today after reading about it in the Happy Puppy Handbook. It’s actually going really well, much better than I’d anticipated, and I wish I’d got a clicker and started as soon as we got her!

But, when I do the school run, I’m out for around 30-40 minutes. She howls and barks and cries. Will this derail any progress we’ve made with click for quiet? And how long is it likely to take until she’s happy to be left by herself for an hour... or even all night? My husband is sleeping downstairs with her at the moment because we have a toddler so we’ve split the workload and I deal with the non-sleeping toddler and he deals with the dog. But of course the hope is that click for quiet will also mean he can go back to sleeping in bed again! We can’t go cold turkey and let her howl at night because we live in a mid terrace house and currently still have a good relationship with our neighbours which we'd like to maintain!
