As its springtime , often meaning gardening time too , I thought it worth posting about potential risks of using Cocoa Mulch in areas available to our dogs .
Dogs are drawn to the smell of the mulch which is akin to the smell of chocolate , this mulch contains Theobromine which , at least can cause upset tums or at worst much more serious problems if enough is eaten , best err to caution .

Thanks Kate, theres some more unusual stuff out there thats toxic isnt there. Worth mentioning that electronic cigarettes, the nicotine part is highly toxic and will kill a dog, also some types of artificial sweetner, sorry cant remember which one it is. Maggie xx

Thanks Kate. Will look for other types of mulch. I'm always careful with weedkiller as well. Make sure megs stays away until its dry.
