This week we are expecting temperatures in the low 40's so it's going to be a little uncomfortable to say the least. When it's been in the high 20's to low 30's Ella has seemed ok being in and outside the house either in the air-conditioning inside or in and out of her pool and lying in the dirt in the shade outside (she digs a hole in the shade down the side of the house and lies in the cool damp ground. I don't mind the one and only hole she digs for this purpose). However temperatures above 40 are another level so I'm thinking we're going to be stuck inside in the air-conditioning all day. Thankfully I don't think it's going to be too hot over night (mid 20's I think) so we'll go for very early and very late walks. What do others do in the extreme heat and do you have any tips?
Obi stays in our bedroom with the aircon on... In the evenings we might go on a swim trip if it's cooled down enough to get in the car. I always forget how hot Melbourne can get.
Yep, the city of stupid extremes. Last week we had two days that didn't get above the mid teens, this week we're high 30s and low 40s before going back to a top of 19 on Monday! At least we haven't had a tornado like they're saying Sydney had today!
Haha, thank goodness for small blessings! We caught the edge of it...was pelting down and very blowy. Hate to think of what Jan and Feb will be like with the way summer has started...
Although not facing temperatures in the low 40s our garden in France was a suntrap and temps would reach the mid 30s with no problem in the summer. The house used to stay cool (no aircon, just thick stone walls) and Juno would spend some time laying in the sun but then go back indoors to crash out on the ceramic floors and plenty of cool fresh water to drink
