So Izzy was introduced to sand and Water for the first time today; think she enjoyed it

Hello there, your puppy looks to be having an amazing time, and is clearly full of fun and loving life!

I'm sorry to say though, @Mulski , in that video Izzy looks to be too fat to me. I know that you might think this very rude of me - and I'm very sorry if so - but hoping you will take it in the spirit it is meant, to help your pup. It is so, so much better that you keep them slim as puppies. So much better for their joints and general health.

Hi @JulieT understand your comment about being overweight, but she is slowly overcoming a bad case of the worms, which she had when we collected her that gave her a pot belly. some folks would have just walked away at that point, but my wife and I decided we could get her sorted properly. Compared to what she was like, the vet is extremely happy with her progress, which she has seen each week since we got her. She is also on a strict IAM Kibble feeding regime with chicken for treats which form part of her daily intake.

She's cute! I'm so glad you're aware of her weight and getting her to a healthy weight with your vets help as it's so important :)

I'm so very glad you are taking steps to slim her down, @Mulski - that is the very best thing you can do for your pup! :)

Sounds like she's in good hands @Mulski - lucky pup to have found a caring family.

To be honest, for a pup, she is really well behaved and had her first taste of fish today which surpassed roast chicken in the excitement category, so going to have to pick up some more when we do our shopping tomorrow.

We have been feeding her IAMS, but I'm not happy in the Poop department, so going to look to change to Millie's over the weekend and see how she gets on.

A number of folks on the Lab FB page have suggested natural coconut oil (1/4) teaspoon a day to help bring a good shine to her coat. Never done this before - thoughts?

    Cheers

the usual advice when changing over a puppy's food is to do it slowly. when I was changing Juno's food over at my vet's suggestion she suggested the following to ease the transition:-

day 1 and 2 75% current food + 25% new food per meal

day 3 and 4 50% current food + 50% new food per meal

day 5 and 6 25% current food + 25% new food per meal

    day 7 100% new food

I'm currently just switching Juno's food so this is the regime that I've just adopted again to manage the change

I feed salmon oil to my two, which certainly helps Willow's skin (she can be a bit dry) and makes her coat shiny. I don't feed coconut oil, but every now and then, I rub some into her tummy, which she loves - I think it was @kateincornwall who told me about doing this with her Sam.
