We have just been playing ball with Rolo in the garden, after a few throws and runs he suddenly cried and was going for his back end. I panicked and ran over and he was yelping not loud or constant but every so often. I checked for thorns etc, nothing.
He can walk normally no signs of limping but wont walk very far and lays down, if he walks to far he goes for his back end again. Its like he cant ger comfortable now and is constantly panting. No yelps but really worried. Im waiting to speak to the vet any one had this??

Yes had that with my dog. Don't want to make you panic, but mine had a slipped disc. He screamed though. But the rest of the behavior was similar to your dog. I do hope with yours it's not this.

For us it happened in the late afternoon on a Sunday. The emergency vet said okay to give anti inflammatory because I was alone and I couldn't lift him into the car to bring him in. But we went next day and had him examined thoroughly - altho took an MRI to confirm diagnosis.

I'm hoping for Rolo it is something simple to resolve.

It's definitely something to take to your vet in my opinion and I'd try and keep him calm and quiet until you can get there. Best of luck :)

Ive pressed everything on his body, spine, legs, hips and he doesnt cry when im pressing anything at all. Even pressed his muscles, checked all his pads. He has stopped crying but is very subdued and not himself. Waiting for a callback from the vets!

There are lots of ways he could have hurt himself and most of them minor or capable of healing. So don't jump to too many conclusions just yet.

Hope it all goes well at the vet's.

I thought he had a thorn in his foot or had hurt his foot. I had no idea it was his back. I didn't think to press him and check anywhere else.

The best thing you can do is keep him quiet and have him seen by a vet. And not jump to conclusions as @Oberon says!

My first thought was a bee sting.

Gosh, yes, that reminds me, Plum stood on a bee and had a very similar reaction. She kept turning to her back end not knowing what to do, she'd go first to her bottom and then realise this wasn't where she wanted to be and finish at the foot that trod on the bee.
