Poor Darcey has pulled her shoulder and the vet says she is only allowed outside to go to the toilet, luckily it's only for a week but is there anything I could be doing with her to make it easier on her, she was meant to be learning lie down for puppy classes but that's out the window :'( Susannah & Darcey

I wouldn't worry about missing any training for a week,your time will be more about occupying a young dog on restricted excercise....I'd say stock up on plenty of chew toys,frozen kongs and cardboard boxes to crunch up.... Re: Darcey under house arrest Poor girl.... I hope she's all better soon. Think up a few things you can train her to do that don't involve her feet, like touch your hand or a target with her nose or bark on cue.

Re: Darcey under house arrest Kongs are really useful as are games. I brought a game in pets at home which involves them in lifting finals to find treats. Touch is a good one, as is 'look at me' and maybe toilet roll cardboard folded up with a treat inside. Hope she gets better soon x
Re: Darcey under house arrest Things to clicker train with the dog staying still: Teeth cleaning Leave its (see how many treats you can get on her paws) Open wide (open mouth on cue) Grooming, ear and body inspection Hold an object and drop it on cue (if she is allowed to sit still)
