:tmi: I’ve been following that good advice in the Happy Puppy book about keeping my 6month old youngster in a safe pen happily chewing toys when I am busy elsewhere in the house... until this morning, that is! What a mistake! She knocked over a small coffee table and discovered a wonderful little drinks mat, made out of the centre label and vinyl of an old 45 record. Crunchy or what! But at least a quarter of it has disappeared completely and the remainder was in small pieces, including one very nasty larger bit with a needle-sharp point and edge. What if she’s swallowed something like that???:tmi:

What I’ve done (after hoovering up the bits and checking the room for hidden pieces) is to read the advice on the forum and am keeping a close eye on her. So far she’s totally normal. Am just hoping we’re going to be one of the lucky ones and she did a really thorough job of crunching up the bits. Have spent enough this weekend already on the conjuncitivitis!
