I’ve been following that good advice in the Happy Puppy book about keeping my 6month old youngster in a safe pen happily chewing toys when I am busy elsewhere in the house... until this morning, that is! What a mistake! She knocked over a small coffee table and discovered a wonderful little drinks mat, made out of the centre label and vinyl of an old 45 record. Crunchy or what! But at least a quarter of it has disappeared completely and the remainder was in small pieces, including one very nasty larger bit with a needle-sharp point and edge. What if she’s swallowed something like that??? What I’ve done (after hoovering up the bits and checking the room for hidden pieces) is to read the advice on the forum and am keeping a close eye on her. So far she’s totally normal. Am just hoping we’re going to be one of the lucky ones and she did a really thorough job of crunching up the bits. Have spent enough this weekend already on the conjuncitivitis!
