Hi,lovely people, My five month old, Latte, has just had her second round of D&V ,and the vet has come to the rescue with some meds. He has been on Royal Canin Lab. puppy food from the start, and the vet suggests we might consider a sensitive diet e.g. Burns or Wellbeloved. While Latte is waiting for his poo test results, I have him on fresh cooked chicken and rice with a little grated carrot and he is going mental for it!! My wife thinks that after seeing what happens to the kibble stuff after he threw up, we should bite the bullet and keep him on the chicken food. I have a few days grace before the results come back and thought I would ask the opinion of you guys. He is now back to normal and zooming in on the wrought iron table legs.
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two I had lots of problems when Harley was younger with diorrhea. She was on royal canin gastro puppy. We ended up changing her food after a month of chicken and rice. We changed to Bob and Lush and she has been amazing since, no problems at all with D&V. Might be worth thinking about!
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two Whilst you probably don't need to consider a fully sensitive diet, it is worth thinking about what goes into your dogs food. A lot of dogs can't handle grains, wheat, gluten or some types of meat protein. Without a full allergy test I don't think you'll know if your pup has any intolerances and an allergy test probably isn't necessary at this stage. I feed wheat/gluten free (Arden Grange) out of personal choice for my dog and she does really well on it. Her gas has gone and her stools are much firmer and less often than when on her previous diet. James Wellbeloved and Burns are like Arden Grange so probably a good next food to try.
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two We are Bobandlush fans too, although like Penny + Me, we probably don't need too, just personal choice. We also feed a bit of raw too as we have access to a good supply
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two Thanks Naya, Penny and Me and Beanwood. Have got samples of Bob and Lush coming and a trial order from Burns. Latte so much better now ,just waiting for results of poo samples. Many thanks Ron and Latte x
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two Hi Ron, just caught up with your post and I am so sorry to hear poor Latte has been poorly . Good luck with the food samples and here's hoping you find one that agrees with her. Get better soon Latte xx

[/quote] Hi,Naya, As you are on Bob and Lush, can you tell me if you have had any problems with bad breath. Latte is good with the food and I was thinking is bad breath a cause or might it be something else?? Regards Ron and Latte
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two Hi Ron, No, Harley's breath seems to be ok, but we do clean her teeth once a week. I have found her bum lets out a few noises : Hope you find the cause x
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two We are also on bob and lush, and have not had any problems with bad breath, if that helps
Re: Ding Ding...Round Two Bad breath can also be subjective - whilst some people don't mind the smell of normal dog breath, other people can't stand it! If your dog truly does have awful breath then a check with the vet could be in order as it can be indicative of dental problems.
