We are not yet at the end and OH has already announced Charlie is to have a sushi diet...I've told him to take Charlie to Moshi Moshi then... :
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Oh I forgot to watch it or maybe I shouldn't as it will give me something else to worry about no doubt ???
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Julie, if you are not feeding your dog hand-caught, sashimi grade bluefin tuna then you I really think that you are neglecting your dog Hold the wasabi.
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... I despair... What a nightmare. OH has gone to bed, researching on his iPad, muttering about a "natural home cooked diet..." Bloody hell, no way. What with the multiple short walks, mental stimulation playtime, physio sessions, driving to the middle of no-where for 3 hydro sessions a week, vet visits every week, driving him up to the common so he can poo in a bush (god forbid he always has to poo on a street) - and working full time - I'm lucky if I get a home cooked meal!
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... I use to do a home cooked diet for my last dog, before you could buy pre-packaged, complete raw meals. It is a massive pain in the behind and it is not easy to get the nutrition right with a cooked diet (as opposed to raw where you can just give them a whole beastie with all the bones and other internal goodies). Resist this home-cooked idea at all costs!!!! Obi likes to poo in bushes too. Or in the water, preferably where there are people swimming.
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Well, JuLie, if your OH is volunteering for the buying, chopping, and cooking, I say go for it!!
Re: Dog food programme on tonight...
Well, JuLie, if your OH is volunteering for the buying, chopping, and cooking, I say go for it!!
That gets my vote! Riley goes for extreme pooing....up trees or artistically draped in bushes. It involves much spinning and a bit of reversing. He's never pooed in water. Unlike my daughter at Dunster beach last summer. Not many other swimmers thank goodness!
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Wow, Riley extreme pooing indeed. Charlie is a straightforward hide in a bush pooer. He likes a bit of privacy for his poo!
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Yes, that is extreme pooing. Kind of like latte art, if you have that. But poo.
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Yup that's him. I may have mentioned before the poo delicately placed 12 inches off the ground in some Ivy in a wall ! picking up can be tricky
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... I was disappointed by the program. It just showed the opinions of various people, there was no real effort to determine the true differences between raw food and kibble diets. Despite being called 'The Truth Behind Your Dog's Diet' (or similar), it didn't give details about what is used to make commercial food, for instance. Nor did it attempt to make clear what actually a raw diet is; in fact raw feeding was described as a 'fad'.

Re: Dog food programme on tonight... What a shame So fed up with the quality of documentaries at the moment. It is such a huge opportunity to do 'good' and to inform and educate objectively.
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... I actually didn't watch this because of the fear that it would tell me what was in Chip's food and that would send me into a blind panic - I have just stocked up on his kibble and the OH said I wasn't to start feeding it to the birds and giving him fancy stuff! I don't get cheap kibble, but even so.
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Looking at all your comments I don't feel like I have missed anything informative or enlightening x
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... I found it confusing and disappointing..I thought it would be informative and educational, especially with a new pup and not much experience to speak of! Looking at the various kibble feeds available there does seem to be quite a variance in quality of ingredients. We feed Benson on Burns, and have no trouble with poos, smells, health etc..
Re: Dog food programme on tonight... Yes agree. Disappointing. We tried various different makes of kibble when Lady was a pup and ended up with Burns. Seems ok. We also feed her Penlan Farm wet (also from Burns) mixed with the kibble in her evening meal.
