Two days ago, my neighbours dog got out and went missing. He is a Bedlington terrier (think I got that right) anyway she did all the right things informed the police dog warden etc. Anyway the dog turns up, two days later at lunchtime, absolutely fine, on the doorstep, not even hungry. I wonder what happend to him ?? Its strange he wasnt hungry, I wonder if someone took him in fed him, and then he got out, its strange though, because he has a tag with my neighbours number on. Its also really worrying, Otis is never in the garden without me, so he cant abscond, but I just wonder if the dog was stolen?? Apparently they are quite a rare breed, so worth stealing. Maggie X

Is Labrador theft a thing to worry about? We're out in the countryside here, and there was an Irish Wolfhound and Malamute taken the last couple of years local enough.. just a few weeks ago someone tried to get at out home heating oil, so it's always in the back of my mind if Whiskey is out at the time..

Hi Gerry, yes dog theft is on the rise and is definitely a worry. I now have a lock on our high side gate and padlocks on the other gates and remove the keyss. Dogs are being stolen from gardens etc. and even on walks so just be vigilant :(

Heating oil is being stolen also but there are tank alarms that you can buy, so might well look into that too. Damn criminals cost us all extra money.
