After doing lots of searching and questioning, we have found a dog walker that we like. I have spent the past few months meeting lots of dog walkers, but haven't felt comfortable with them. What I want out of a dog walker is someone who Harley is relaxed with, someone who will let her off lead in suitable areas, not have too many other dogs at the same time and can be flexible. Several walkers I have met won't let dogs off lead ever! Aren't very flexible and not been ok with Harley's exuberance.
I met a lovely lady today who does dog walking and doggy day care. She works with her husband and he's a dog behaviourist and she has loads of animal care qualifications :) she won't let Harley off lead on the first one or two walks, but is hoping by the third walk latest, she will be off. She walks in fields about 10 mins away that is private land, her friend owners it. She will have 3 other dogs max, all smaller breeds. Harley loved her and was sooooo well behaved after the first 5 mins of being in the house.
I have got to see a chiropractor several times a week for the next few months, then weekly after that to try and sort my back/neck out so am going to be sore, and along with working, I was worrying about Harley getting enough exercise. Today, I'm feeling really positive :)

Oh Ternaya,I'm glad you've found someone you are both comfortable with...her set up sounds great.
Sorry you've got such a lot of appointments ...or is it a good thing? will it sort out the pain you experience and assist your recovery? X

We are hoping that the chiropractor will be able to ease at least 50% of the pain over the next 3-6 months. My surgeon said he will do further surgery if there's not been enough improvement by then, but it's a surgery I would need every year to maintain, so we are hoping to avoid having to go down that route.
I am hoping that this dog walker works out as it will help me massively over the coming months :)

Harley had her first outing with the dog walker today. I've just got home from work and Harley is really calm.....think she's still tired out :) She was picked up at 10.15am and didn't get dropped home til just after 12pm. She was on lead for this walk and apart from a bit of pulling initially, she was really good :) she got on fab with the other dogs and enjoyed playing with them :)
I am sooooooo relieved it went well. I think we will both be looking forward to her walks ;)
