I had a little taste of 2 dogs in the house today.....
    This is Oscar

He is the most lovely natured dog ever and he puts up with Dexters inexhaustible energy to play marvelously.
I've got some videos but the pixies seem to have got on flickr ( thank goodness you say ;) )
What I've had confirmed is my house is not suitable for 2 dogs having a hoolie... '.marble
floors a doggie Bambi make' and of course outside is not an option at the mo......although Oscar did take a couple of dips in the pool when he nipped out for a wee ;D Dexter told him that's not allowed...he didn't seem to care!
It was pursuit of another activity to keep 2 doggies busy and then tired when they can't play outside....they didn't slow down until after 2 3/4 hours play?and only then because I separated them for a break ( they had a few mins quiet time every half an hour or so too )is that normal?do you think they would learn to have some quiet time and relax together if I try and do it regularly....they are both the same age, coming up 2.
It was lovely but I'm still sticking to being a one dog family! ;D

    Oscar looks adorable!

I'm glad you have demonstrated that Orvis bed is big enough for both a lab and a spaniel. ;) ;D ;D I'll let my OH know.

They look gorgeous and so happy Angela. Although Dex is perhaps thinking ''He's not sleeping in my bed is he?'' ;D

The more you do it the calmer they will get. Today it was new and very very exciting. You might find when Oscar first arrives they always go a bit looney but I'm sure the excitement will decrease quicker the more it happens.

Did you try them with chews or stuffed kongs ? for some calm time. If not and you do (sorry if stating the obvious) just be careful incase one decides it wants the others and they don't like sharing.

The 5 dogs in my family all get on. They have a race about and then calm down and usually do their own thing now.

Lots of doggy fun . ;D

Yes Jen ;D a couple of frozen toys gave me a few minutes peace to make a cuppa....Dexter wants EVERYTHING that Oscar has so he tried to take it off him but Oscar is really good natured so there was no trouble...I just got on the rug in between them and told Dexter to lie down and stay and held his for him until he got into it,once he got some food he forgot about his pals and let Oscar get on in peace.Ill give it another try next week...
Yes Julie, there's space for 2 and them some! ;D

Got to laugh haven't you? In some ways it's like having kids, you've got to keep them amused. They're lovely photos Angela. Meg would let any doggie that visited have any of her toys apart from her favourite (squeaky duck). She would put her paw on it and just stare at them if they tried to take it. They soon backed off. :)
