Went out this afternoon and met all the people that I could really have done without : First of all it was a lady with a small dog - she picked it up before Lilly got anywhere near her, turning her back on Lilly, saying "go away!" and I think would have gone through the gate if she could have to get away. Of course, her ladyship was blanking me : : but did at least not jump up although clearly interested in the furry barking creature in the woman's tight grip. As she passed I apologised (as I do....) "she is always looking for a playmate" and she replied - briefly - this one is just really anxious. Yeah...maybe..... Next it was the woman with the totally unsocialised GSD (or should that be the GSD with the unsocialised owner???). She spots anyone a hundred yards off, squashes her dog into the verge, keeps her back to you and never makes eye contact or conversation. Meanwhile the dog makes strained growly noises. Dogs number 3 are a pair of pretty barky terriers, off lead. They were hot on our heels and we were yet to pass number 2. Lilly when off-lead will interact for 30 secs then move on, them not being her best buddies, but with her being on-lead to pass number 2 they were difficult to shake off. He spotted number 2 and went through the gate number 1 was aspiring to enter but loud barky took her time. Anyway, we went on our way and lingered at the bottom of the track to avoid them all coming back. Made up for having to go on the lead with some water zoomies. Thought I was taking video : otherwise I would have got a better pic! So, all in all, 4 unsociable dogs and/or owners v 1 lab up for a play and being deaf. All in a days work ;D #1 onto my New topic tally
