Yesterday I gave Molly some left-over potato and peas - she ate the potato but carefully left the peas. OH poured on some gravy saying, 'She'll eat them now.' But no, she somehow drank the gravy but sieved out the peas. I was just about to pick her bowl up and throw them away when she beat me to it. The little minx tossed the bowl in the air, peas flew everywhere and she stalked off to the garden. I could hear her muttering, 'I don't like peas!'
Re: Eat your peas! Lol. I had a dog once that did the same thing. No peas and no carrots for him. They can be so funny. And very meticulous in there food sorting abilities. Not this dog though. I think she would eat absolutely anything. I'm yet to find something she turns her nose up at. ;D
Re: Eat your peas! Penny would have eaten them for her! She loves nothing more than chasing frozen peas round the kitchen floor! Throw a handful on the floor and she's occupied for hours!
Re: Eat your peas! When I first met my other half his dad had a collie who loved beef tomatoes eating it super careful to not spill any and leave the stalk and the only way she would eat kibble would be to add the left over water from boiling vegetables
Re: Eat your peas! They're so funny aren't they? If I'm cooking I always have a small friend looking for dropped morsels. Most things are gobbled up with glee (peas are fine, frozen peas even better, carrots scrumptious) but we've had a few things she couldn't quite bring herself to eat: button mushrooms (much relieved about these- wasn't sure if they were terrible for dogs), cherry tomatoes, and mangetout (which are apparently 'mange pas' in her world!). In each case though, she holds them carefully in her mouth and looks worried- not actually willing to spit them out and abandon them until I ask for their delivery back into my hand ;D ;D

It's so funny whenever I give Penny something new to try - she will hold it in her mouth and do some laps of the house gleefully before realising that she is actually allowed to have it and then she takes it to the rug in the hall to lie down with it, sniff it, lick it and then see how edible it is.
Re: Eat your peas! Oh my - this reminds me of my mum's dog, Jason. A rough Collie. He was so fussy. Back then, the dogs got left overs mixed in with their food. He'd eat round the peas! Bless. Anyway, he got fussier, and fussier about his food. We'd have to tempt him to eat. Then we got a lab puppy. Any food Jason didn't eat was wolfed down in seconds by the pup! He started eating all he wanted at the first go! Otherwise it would be scoffed by the new pup. ;D ;D ;D My mum reckoned Jason lived years longer as a result. Re: Eat your peas! Thanks! The pup was mine - he was called Jupes, and a 100% working black lab. Looking at his photo now, melts my heart. He was a wonderful, wonderful dog. He was also a terrible, mad high prey drive absconder....but I decide I'll forget that bit for now...

Re: Eat your peas! We got chippie tea tonight (mmmmmmm ) and dropped a very hot chip. I have never moved so fast in my life but Lola still beat me to it : then immediately dropped it cause it was hot. Phew! Don't think I will ever need to worry about Lola being a fussy eater. Constantly telling her how I go right out of my way to get her good wholesome food then she goes and eats and cardboard box Bloody good job I love that dog!!!
