Hi, have any of you tried the Eden dog food? I'm really interested in giving it a go. My vets are really into Hills but I'm having reservations on this.
My vet prefers Royal Canin but the diet food is £2.75 a can!!! When they did not have any, I was told to feed Tara on Chappie, at 69p a tin. Hmmm! Not heard of Eden though.
I've never used it but I do use the All about Dog food website and they have reviews of most foods. its a good site I'd recommend a look.
Juno has been on a Hills Prescription diet, recommended by the vet, for around 9 months now and she's been doing well on it. I've heard of Eden before and have had a look at it. I like it because it has added glucosamine and chondroitin but all the different sources of protein in one bowl is a little too much for me.
I found out about Eden by looking on all about dog website. The Hills vet essentials that I use from the vet has its first listed ingredient as maize. I'd have thought a carnivores diet first ingredient would be meat. Eden has very good reviews and is 5/5 on that dog site. Mine came up at 2/5. I'll give Eden a call today and speak with them. I know what you mean MaccieD.
Hi Newbie Lab Owner ! I used the Eden Hollistic 80/20/0 on Lilly with good results and would highly recommend it. I was part of a food buying "syndicate" and moved to the Eden, then Simpson's Premium 80/20, after being on Orijin for a while. I wasn't entirely in control of the ordering decisions but had no problems at all with any of them, and Lilly is doing really well on the Simpson's right now, but the volume of food might seem a little scanty to some - less bulky because of no wheat/fillers. I think the Eden was the first British product of a similar quality to the Orijin which was wheat free, although there others now, and does work out cheaper too per bag, although I think weight wise of food per meal there isn't a lot in it. I would recommend it. jac
Hi @drjs@5, thank you, always great to hear from someone who's used it and had good results. I have ordered a large bag today as my sister and I are both going to try it (well our dogs are ). If both dogs get on with it we will be able to get free postage. It arrives by courier tomorrow which means I don't have to cart a huge bag from the vets or shop. I've spoken to Eden on the phone today and also on their closed Facebook group, they were very helpful and I never felt that they were trying to push me into a decision. I ordered online from them at lunch time. It's taken me weeks of trawling the Internet and then I saw a link on here for the all about dog food last night. Really is a minefield but I definitely want to give the Eden a good try. Only time will tell.
