Just come back from a great holiday up north norfolk.

Both dogs were well (ish) behaved. They behaved themselves on the campsite, just a few hiccups (mainly barley) elsewhere.

We were on a lovely pitch with a fence at the back of the pitch, others campers one side and toilet blocks the other side so it was easy to contain the dogs with windbreaks and tethers. Minimal barking from the pair of them so we did not upset our neighbors. We had no trouble at all with puzzle being in season, no unwanted attention from any dogs.

Puzzle had a whale of a time swimming in the sea and running along the beach everyday. She was very curious of the seals but generally ignored them. We did loose her collar in the sea after dad insisted that she wear it when she went swimming, after that dad insisted we take her collar off if she was to go swimming as we had to use the spare collar and that was the one and only spare collar we had. Barley on the other hand was the opposite, he refused to go anywhere near the water and also disliked very much walking on the sand as it made his feet sore so he had to walk around the forest dog walking area rather than walk along the beach.

Barley also has a fear of bridges now, for some unknown reason he refused to walk across any bridge which did make one town difficult as the carpark was across a bridge so dad ended up taking him back to the car driving over the bridge dropping him and me off over the other side then drive back over the bridge to park the car again and walk over the bridge with puzzle, The things we done for that dog ::).

All the shops we went in that were dog friendly had water and treats avalible for the dogs, something both dogs loved so much they pulled us into the shops and looked expectantly for biscuits. One pet shop was particularly very friendly and gave us free treats and fed the dogs loads of treats twice as we made two visits to it.

Puzzle also had a trip on a sailing boat which she loved, she was like a duck to water in the boat. She did not attempt to jump over the side she just layed down and took the whole experience in. Barley stayed on shore with mum as there would be no chance of us getting him on a boat.

Puzzle did end the holiday with getting a UTI. She started weeing funny on the thursday night and was still no better by friday morning so we rang the vet up and booked her in for the afternoon when we would be back home, rather than seeing a local vet the friday morning, we just made a couple of wee stops on the car journey back. She also got a cut on the corner of her eye and sandpapered feet from the sand, she showed no signs of sore feet at all but by the time she did the damage was done but they are starting to heal now with the help of some steroid cream from the vets. Barley found walking on the sand difficult and it made his front shoulder sore and stiff and his hips uncomfortable but he was manageable with some painkillers that we brought with us and walks restricted to the grassy dunes and Forrest area at the campsite.

Dad got loads of photos which i will upload this evening.

Overall we had an amazing time, and puzzle had a great first holiday.

Holiday sounded great fun. Pity about the UTI but antibiotics will nail it pretty quickly if necessary

Sounds like a great holiday. I've only been to Norfolk once, a long time ago, but would like to go back with a dog to enjoy all that open space.
