Good Morning all, I have a question. My lab puppy Latte is 13 weeks and has been a bit poorly the last few days.A couple of vet visits says he has probably "picked something up" and is on anti-biotics for a few days.He is picking up slightly, but what is strange is the amount of saliva, fluid, coming from his mouth. Part of his blanket is drenched by the time he wakes up from a sleep. The vet does not seem concerned about this, but being a loving Dad, I am. Has anyone of you lovely people had an issue similar or will nature take it"s course??? Thanks Latte"s minder,Ron
Re: Feeling poorly Sorry to hear your pup is unwell.. I would be straight back to the vets, there could be an obstruction. Did you pup have any other symptoms? temperature, or pain/tenderness anywhere else? Were these symptoms sudden in onset or gradual?
Re: Feeling poorly Yes drooling could be a symptom of an obstruction in his gastrointestinal tract, or a side effect of the meds. I would be taking him back to the vet for a second opinion and pushing to find a vet who will listen and not just fob you off with 'picked something up' If there's even the slightest chance he may have swallowed something he shouldn't then tell the vet.
Re: Feeling poorly Sorry Latte is not well. I too would take him back to vets. It's not normal. Let us know how you get on.
Re: Feeling poorly Sorry to hear Latte's not well. Is he drinking and weeing and pooing normally? If not I'd definitely go straight back to the vet. If he is I might give the antibiotics a day or two to kick in, but with such a young puppy I wouldn't wait as long as with a grown dog. Hope he feels better soon.
