    Hi everyone,

Mabel is nine months old and has just finished the first week of her first heat, the bleeding seems to be subsiding now but I was just wondering, did anyone experience loose stools in their dog when in heat? I have three other entire bitches (one of whom is 11) and I have never really experinced this. Is it something to be worried about or is it a common occurrence?

    Thank you in advance!

From what I've read on here from people's experiences, it's not uncommon, so I wouldn't be unduly worried about it. Just keep an eye on her, ensure she's being properly hydrated and, if it persists, take her to the vet. But if it's short-lived, I'd put it down to the season. Maybe TMI but I know that my own "seasons" can have an impact in that department, too ;)
