Bad diarrhoea first thing this morning, messed indoors a while ago which she never does, followed by more diarrhoea outside, followed by bright red blood! Have I panicked in booking her in at the vets this afternoon or have I done the right thing?

Not at all. Blood in poo, actually blood anywhere it's not supposed to be = vet. Let us know how you get on.

    Thanks everyone. :)
She seems absolutely fine other than the runs. Playing and misbehaving as usual. Seeing the blood alarmed me a bit though.

When is your appointment? Bright red blood is often just capillary blood, so hopefully nothing to worry about, but definitely important to have it checked.

Poor Meg, and you, hope she's better soon and it's nothing serious. If in doubt always a trip to the vet.

Oh crikey I hope she is ok? They are such a worry. My Meg too has not been good these few days nearly got to the vet, but she's perked up now. Hope your Meg is back to her old self soon :)

Vet isn't too concerned and reckons it's a bit of colitis from something she's eaten or picked up from another dog. So a little bit relieved! Just gotta give her some pro-kolin and some digestive food for the next few days and hopefully it'll firm things up!!

Darcey had this last week, the pro-kolin worked and her poos are back to normal, she was alright in herself, she was not happy having reduced amounts of food though ;D

We hope Meg is feeling better really soon
