Poppy did such a good thing today...

I was heading to the local pool for my morning swim, and rather than drive me there, the other half decided that we would walk together through the woods with Poppy (it's about a 30 minute walk), and that he'd pick me up in the car an hour later. He carried my backpack for me, with all my swimming stuff in it. We'd got about half the way there, when I noticed that one of my flip flops had fallen out of the side pocket. Well, I cant bear walking through the changing rooms and showers in my bare feet (athlete's foot, yuk!!!!!!), so we set off back to look for it.

Then the OH had a stroke of genius. He got the remaining flip flop out, and showed it to Poppy. Then pointed her off along the path and told her to get back. She looked a bit confused, ran along the path, stopped, looked back at us; then with a bit more encouragement she hared off along the woodland path...

AND CAME BACK A FEW MINUTES LATER CARRYING MY LOST FLIP FLOP!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D 8) :D :D :D You can imagine how much praise and how many treats she got!!! Clever Poppy!!!! I was amazed. :)

I would say that is a seek back retrieve. ;D Similar to a memory retrieve only difference is neither one of you knew exctly where it was. Flip flop will probably smell very similar to her new dummies - plastic and you! ;D
