In just one month's time, this forum will be passing its 3rd birthday. We are also close to welcoming our 1000th member!

We have grown from being the 'new kid on the block' to one of the busiest dog forums in Europe.

In an age where most forums are shrinking, not growing, that is pretty unusual. And I am sure it is down to the lovely, friendly atmosphere, that you guys have created here.

I thought it might be fun to celebrate in some way, and am looking for ideas and suggestions. I was thinking along the lines of a quiz night or something similar. I am happy to provide a few 'prizes'

What do you think? Any ideas?

A lot of the success is down to you and the moderators. It is all of you who help make this forum so friendly :)

I think a quiz night would be fab ;)

A Quiz night? Could be interesting.
Is there a good time that would suit all our varied members? Might have to make it a 24hr marathon ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I'd be willing to set an alarm.... :)

Maybe we can all bake Labrador cakes (however you want to interpret that) and put up photos?

I think a themed labrador photo competition - friendship, maybe - would be good. I'm absolutely awful at quiz nights. I never know who was the wife of the 10th president of the USA and stuff like that.

I kinda like the photo idea....but I'm always up for a quiz night. I could probably make the time zone thing work, too...although I'm not sure that getting up at 2 AM or something for a quiz will show off my talents to their true extent ;)

However if Rachel is going to use Google then we all could, so how would that work???? ;D ;D

Mind you my photography skills are fairly rudimentary.....hmmm it's a tough one....

We could have a themed photo comp that'd involve posing your dog (or dressing it up for those of us who are into that - I know I am!). Can't just be on photography skills alone or we might as well just name Heidrun the winner now :) ;)

    Lol.
Yes Heidrun might be better as a judge! ;D
Most photo "competitions" I have entered lately have been purely fun and there is a small donation to a dog charity to enter. Usually just £1. And there is usually a theme ;D.
Sometimes just a picture with a bandana, maybe in a certain plsce (enjoying water) or a haloween theme. Some of you may have seen Lilly's Harry Potter photo :)
Means you are being judged on more than just your photography skills :)

Heidrun definitely has to be the judge, but we have to let her do a photo as well - sort of as a demo (we don't want to miss a photo of Murffi).

I loved Lily as Harry pawter !

Julie,no offence ...but you're OUT and Rachael is IN when I'm compiling my Dream Quiz Team!
I'm rubbish at Quizzes and my hopeless photos on my mobile would never stand up against some of the beautiful ones we see on the forum but regardless ,I'll join in with whatever gets decided!im not bad at baking and I'm prize winning at cake scoffing!

Quite understandable. I'm good at green trivial pursuit questions though. Pretty rubbish on the rest unfortunately.

Agreed. The members of this forum are always (as far as I have seen anyway) helpful and understanding, especially with novices such as myself. Far too many internet posters with experience can be somewhat condescending and sound as if they are preaching rather than guiding. So, thank you to all of the helpful people 8)
