Refered to the site many times over the last few months, just found the forum and thought what a great idea to join up sharing the ups and downs of raising a pup and absorb and put into action the fantastic advice from those experienced lab owners.

Pippa my first book arrived yesterday, only a few pages in and already I have obsorbed so much easy to read easy to apply tricks of the handler ❤

I researched the breed, had/have so much I want to achieve with my boy, applied basic training from day one and I must admit I have been at times overwhelmed, wondering if a dog receiving no training would appear to have better manners .

Reminding myself to enjoy this time, stop putting pressure on.

Look forward to hearing your experiences/challenges as you approach the six month marker

    Love to all

My training tip is treat, treat, treat. Our puppy is super eager to please and will do anything for treats. As he's got older, will be 6 months old on 20/7 I'm reducing the treats but still giving plenty. We're continuing to work on all the training we've been practicing from the start. I am also taking him on the golf course with me as our long term goal when he can is for him to join us with our other passion. Good luck everyone keep going and we will all have the most wonderful best friends and companions.
