We lost our little princess Misty this morning. It was quick, which was a blessing, but we had hoped to have her longer. This Monday would have been her 7 years "gotcha day" She walked into our lives and our heart as a very smelly, dirty, scared little dog. She had been rescued from a Welsh puppy farm, and came to us after recently having a litter by the looks of her. She was so dirty, her belly was literally black, she didn't have much hair on her tail, she had a terrible ear infection, entropion in both eyes, and needed teeth removed. It took a lot of love, and plenty patience to turn her into a happy, loving little dog that loved to sleep on her back like a baby in my arms. We called her our little princess as a joke, she quite often burped in your face after jumping up on the couch, she loved fox poo and she always tried to eat the dead things the cat brought back. Four years ago she was diagnosed with a Chiari malformation of the skull, and severe Syringomyelia after we noticed she sometime dragged her back paws a little, and scratched at her neck a lot. She was put on various medications that needed tweaked, these gave us a fantastic four years we never thought we'd have. We were blessed to have this little dog in our lives, and I know we gave her a great 7 years, but we only lost our other Cav Murphy in May, and it just seems too soon. Jake's been my shadow today.
First of all , thank you for giving a homeless dog a wonderful life . I am so very sorry to hear of her passing , Misty sounds like she was a proper little character , one I am sure will leave a huge hole in your heart . Jake will help you to cope in the weeks/months ahead , take comfort from knowing that you did your very best for this lovely little soul x
RIP Misty It seems she had a very good life when she met you. I'm sure she was very happy to be loved after being treated so horribly. Big hugs x
So sad to hear about Misty, you must be heartbroken She certainly was a beautiful little girl. My very best wishes to you all. xxx
I'm sorry. But how lucky Misty was to find you and be mourned when she leaves this earth. For so many dogs where she probably came from that never happens, no one loves them. Thank you for loving her and missing her now. So sorry.
Very sorry to hear this. But how uplifting to hear how you rescued her and gave her such a happy life.
I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. On the other hand it was so wonderful to read the story of how Misty had such a lovely life with you after you rescued her. Thinking of you xx
What an adorable looking dog, such a lovely expression, I am so glad you were able to give her 7 years of happy life. Her death is a heartache for you, but she will have known love which must have been heaven on earth for her.
She looks such a sweetheart x I'm so sorry she couldn't stay with you longer. Thank you for rescuing her and giving her all that love.
So sorry to hear about Misty. She obviously had seven very happy years with you after her horrible start in life.
What a lovely story of how you were able to change her life around completely and bring her happiness and love. I'm so sorry she had to leave you. RIP, little lady x
