Howzit! I have never actually joined a forum before, long-time blogger and social media user, but never forums, so I hope I can pick up the etiquette quick-like! We have four pet dogs, three mixed breed furkids - all rescues - and one who is 3/4 Labrador Retriever and 1/4 Golden Retriever. He is why I am here. He is his mommy's baby, my precious boy. He was born with eyes that don't work (pupils fully dilated and fixed, no retinal response to blue or red light spectrum), and he turned 5 in April. He has cataracts now too (no benefit to removal, so no surgery) and is almost completely blind, he was diagnosed diabetic in September 2015, and he developed epilepsy about a year later. We are also Puppy Raisers for SA Guide-Dogs, and are currently raising our 4th puppy, Riggs (almost 18 weeks old). We are BIG fans of clicker training, crate training, proper socialisation, and habituation, as well as vaccs and regular deworming and tick-n-flea control.
Welcome to you from Mags, Tatze and Mollie from Manchester UK Tatze is my pet dog, a black Lab and she's four years old. Tatze means 'paw' in German. Mollie is my fourth Guide Dog puppy, a black Lab who is eight months old. I was brought up in Joburg until I was 11 (Discovery)
Welcome! Lilly and I are from Scotland, and Lilly is my first dog, she has just turned 7 years old. We will be interested to hear about your Guide Dog experience in SA. We love hearing about Mags (Boogie) and her GD puppies. Great to have you all here! jac
Welcome to you and Riddick from me Helen, Hattie 9 years and our rescue boy Charlie 6 years, we live in Hampshire, UK. Riddick sounds like a great boy and very loved x
Very loved indeed! My husband says that when we have to say goodbye one day, he's going to have me sedated for at least a week.
Cool! I do weekly blog posts about our puppies, and I have a Facebook page - to spread awareness and educates, but mainly for our dogs' new owners to be able to go back and read about them growing up.
Hi and welcome from me and 3 year old girl, Harley. We are in the UK. She is my first ever dog and she is my baby. Everyone in work thinks I'm mad as we do agility and a bit of gun dog training and a bit of scent training.
Welcome to you all, from me in Spain with my three Labs; Willow and Shadow, who are two and a half and litter mates (Willow is a black girl and Shadow is, perversely, a yellow boy) and he newest addition, Luna - affectionately named Squidge - who is 7 months and a chocolate girl.
He has a "snow nose"! In summer its not quite as pink, but its never gone back to the dark brown it was when he was a baby.
Welcome from cold and wet England. I love the look of Riddick but sad to read he is blind, though I know blind dogs cope very well.
