We've just spent a weekend at Hay House Farm at Ipstones, Staffs. We'd highly recommend this B&B for the great way that Debbie and Adrian look after their visitors, both two-legged and four-legged. The farm is a centuries old sandstone house is set up its own tarmac drive off a quiet country lane. We got a lovely welcome from the owners and their Labs. Our en-suite room with real oak beams came equipped with a dog bowl & dog towels which was a nice touch. There was even real milk in a fridge - not UHT stuff - for making coffee. Breakfast included cereals, toast, juice, a huge full fry, and real coffee. They even recommended and booked us a table in a dog-friendly pub for a meal. While there we had the run of the hay field for exercising Holly. It's very convenient for walks in the southern peak district and Dovedale. There are also many good local walks from the farmhouse. This morning we walked from the B&B down through the woods to the Churnel Valley, along the canal and back up though another set of woods. When we got back Debbie made some coffee for us before we set off home, which was unexpected but very much appreciated. We'll certainly be going back. http://www.hayhousefarm.co.uk/index.html
Re: Hay House Farm Thanks Phil, it looks very nice there. They also have a nice website. It's not much more expensive than the Premier Inn in Kendal, which, the last time I looked was about 90 pounds if you had breakfast too.
Re: Hay House Farm That really looks nice. I liked this bit.... We have a very large, five acre walled field to exercise your dog and can provide a fully-fenced paddock, if you have an escapologist. ;D I do note that I wouldn't be nearly good enough to have one of their pups though ;D
Re: Hay House Farm They're not joking about the field - its huge! We spent half an hour playing hide and seek in the long grass. Holly was shattered by the time we'd finished

Place looks lovely - the oak beams are fab. Sounds like they know exactly how to make people feel welcome too.
