Hello All, I am just dropping in to say hello as I have been lurking for a while. Our new pup Meg is arriving on 6th April and we are all super excited. She is a black lab from a working background. She is our 5th dog (not all at the same time!) but I have always had giant breeds and we have never had a gundog so I am hoping to earn lots from this forum

Re: Hello and new pup arriving soon. Hi, thanks for your warm welcome. I had had 3 Newfoundlands. A totally wonderful breed. One was a chocolate Landseer he was a 70kg softie. We currently have an amazing nearly 9 year old Alaskan Malamute who also is a giant teddy bear. We are going smaller as now have twin boys aged 6 who take up some of our room ! They are dog mad and very excited. I am hopeful they can learn a great deal from watching Meg grow and develop. I am pretty dog experienced but am mindful I have not had a pup for 8 years or so and things change. We are very excited I will post some pictures when she is here. I look forward to read lots and learning lots on this forum

Would love to see a pic of your Mallie to keep us going until your baby arrives @Stefan - 'fraid I can't help you - I think others have said before that's its difficult to decide what a pup is going to be like once grown up. Here is one of our wonderful Mallie as requested by drjs@5 Jasper is a great dog. He is super placid and no bother at all. He will be over the moon with his new play mate. Hopefully Hope the link works. Its my first photobucket attempt !
