    Hello everyone;
    Been lurking around a bit while I was researching, and finally bought a 'mostly Chocolate' Lab puppy last night. He won't be coming home to us until August. Have only had one other dog, a German Shepherd and Beagle X. Had him for 17 years, but it was 10 years since he passed. Circumstances are right personally and professionally to add a new member to the family. New puppy will be joining my two cats.

    Looking forward to being a part of the community. I don't have much advise to share as this is only my 2nd dog, but I look forward to learning much from the folks here who have trained and lived with Labs more than I :)

    Cheers,

    Chris and Angie, Ajax (near Toronto) Canada

    Yes she is. She is our first Lab. Not our first dog but still a learning curve for us. She is gorgeous and doing great thanks to a lot of help on this forum. It is very alive and I'm learning constantly from everyone. It's also very open and friendly which I love.

    Oh my goodness..so many replies in such a short period of time. Wish I could reply to each one but here is some basic info:

    1. His name is Bosun. Here is the wikipedia info on the name: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boatswain I'm from NF, and my dof growing up of 17 years was names Skipper. Bosun is a good name to follow up to such lofty expectations. Bosun will be his own dog of course.
    2. We will adopt him formally in August. He will attend puppy college, as I am eager to learn more than anything. The first step in a good dog is a good human. Puppy classes are more for me than him.
    3. We already have 2 cats. Hopefully we can integrate Bosun into the family properly.
