After years of planning; buying a dog-friendly house, trading in my lovely fast car for a bargey Volvo :-\, changing work patterns etc... we're FINALLY picking up our first family dog - 8 week old black boy Bryn on Friday (8am sharp).

The last 4 weeks since choosing him have been agony but we're nearly there. Just a final few bits, pack the car to go and collect him. Can't wait! We have 3 weeks at home to settle him in and get started on some socialisation.

Really great forum - I'm sure we will be back here a lot. I'll post some pics later.

    Cheers
    Chris

I've got one of those. :( It's more a shed than a barge though. I think Volvo do them in both.

Hi and welcome - what a cutesome pup!

We also had to wait for a pup until we had done the car, house, job, (even country!) change ;D Actually we were always going to do those things anyway and a dog became part of the master plan ;)

Lovely! We're between Newport and Chepstow, near Penhow.

Recently there have been a few of us getting together for labrador walkies round the Wye Valley - they've been great fun. Maybe too far away for you, but they've been wonderful for getting Pongo nicely socialised with other dogs! Maybe when Bryn is a wee bit older?

Hi, warm welcome from me and my girl, meg, 14, yellow lab. He's an absolute cutie. Have you got to travel far to pick him up?
