Hello, just joined today. Luka is my first lab and I got him at 8 weeks. He is now a handsome 14 month old weighing in at 39 kgs. He loves swimming and fortunately the river is near and is wide with calm areas for him to run in and out fetching his buoy float or safestix. He has been an absolute joy. I am however the puppy chewing and nibbling of my arms is over, those milk teeth and claws were needle like!! I do clicker training with him and it is very successful for us. Anyway, just wanted to say hi.

Re: Hello from France Thanks for the welcome Phil and Holly! Yes, Luka is a character! He is a born sock thief and recently into running out into the garden with unattended sofa throw cushions!! Just starting to get the hang of frisbee catching, loves to play ball however it is usually one sided, I throw, he goes and gets it and keeps it, so we need to work on dropping it!

Welcome to the Forum,I'm sure you will find it and the main site a great resource for info and a loveLy place to come to for advice or a general chat about dogs ( and many other things too ;D )
Re: Hello from France Thank goodness for air con for Dexter in Dubai! Hot paws for sure. Luka is not a fan of the heat fortunately it's not hot too many months here. Likes his pool and the terra cotta floor when he's hot. This site is a very good resource, glad I found it.

Re: Hello from France Luka thanks you for the compliment! I have to admit that he is rather handsome and very fit. He has perfected the 'I didn't do it' look with those big dark eyes, funny how they can put on that innocent puppy face in a nanosecond!

Re: Hello from France Hello, we are in the Correze department on the Dordogne river. Took Luka for a 2 hour hike this morning and encountered an aggressive dog at a farm. Not good thought he was going to take a bite of my woofer. I kept it away as we got out of there pronto.
