Hi from Emily and 10 week old chocolate baby Ella! We live in Melbourne, Australia and I can't tell you how helpful this forum has been to me over the last few months! We have discovered this week that our little baby is actually quite huge (10 weeks and over 10kgs) as she towers over the other labs at puppy school! She's not fat, just big and her mum and dad were big so we could have a giant on our hands haha. Ella is our first lab (first dog actually) and whilst she requires more time, effort and patience than I ever imagined, she's already the best part of our life! (I'll upload a photo as soon as I figure out how to!) Anyway, hi from me ☺ Em
Hi Emily and welcome to the forum from me and my two monsters, Willow and Shadow, who are nearly elven months (how can that be, they were tiny puppies just yesterday?!?). Ella does sound like a big girl, maybe she'll give our resident giant, Pongo ( Rosie ), a run for his money! We would definitely love to see photos of your girl; if you go to the technical section, there is some information on how to do it. You need to use a photo hosting site like Flickr, Photobucket, Imgur etc and then embed it from there. I look forward to seeing pictures of her and learning more about her as time goes on. You're right, however prepared you think you are, they need so much more than you ever imagined. I'm sure you'll have plenty of stories and questions; don't be shy to ask. My two are my first Labs and first dogs of my own. We had family dogs when I was a kid (a long time ago now!) but it's a completely different thing being completely responsible for them, and lots of things have changed since back then. I sometimes have wobbles about what I'm doing, but I think that's natural and something that happens to us all. I just come on here and rant about it, and there are always plenty of people to offer sympathy, advice and support. Especially when you have a crocopup on your hands...
That photo was taken yesterday. I left the room for two seconds and came back to find her on the couch (first time she's done that)! It's a bit hard to get photos when she's awake as she doesn't stay still for long enough! Here she is right now...
Ah, I see you got there before I finished my post. What a cutiepie! I have a yellow and a black. I may need to get a choccy to complete my collection...
Haha Peter she's super bouncy but there's no way I'd get that in a photo! Nearly all of my photos are her sleeping! I think she's a typical puppy, bouncing around like a psycho one minute, unconscious the next.
Welcome to the forum from us, Hattie 7 years and our rescue boy Charlie 4 years. Enjoy your puppy. Helen xx
Hi from me and Lola, she's a chocolate girl as well, 4.5 months the 'action shot' is so familiar - I think I've taken hundreds of photos like that since we had her! Hope you find the forum fun and useful, I don't get around to posting much but it's great reading and seeing everything
Hi and welcome from me and 23 month old fox red lab, Harley I love your photos, so cute Harley is my first ever dog and even though we have had our challenges with her I wouldn't change it

Welcome Emily and Ella, I love this forum it's a massive comfort blanket at times. Mabel is my second puppy of my own. The last one I had was when I was a teenager at least a hundred years ago. Hehe. Mabel is now 7 months and the apple of my eye. Massive hugs from Mabel and myself xxx
