Came home to find Simba has eaten a whole cereal bowl full of raw rice (not instant). Vet thinks he will likely be fine, have to withold food for 36 hours ( ) watch for expanding abdomen and vomiting....ack....

In case you are wondering why there was a full bowl of uncooked rive on the counter, well, it was because my daughter had left her phone out in the rain the other day and she was drying it out (a very good method, in case you haven't tried it). It's been sitting on the counter for two days. I kept a careful eye on it at first, but Simba did not show any interest in it. I was gone to work yesterday, 8:30-12, 1-3:30. Untouched. I was out this morning, not a kernel of rice disturbed. I had to pop out briefly this afternoon, it's been pouring buckets all day and have only had one shortish walk today, so, feeling sorry for the pooch, I gave him one of his "Smart Bones" (a yummy rawhide alternative, he really likes them) to console him while I was gone. I was gone for perhaps 45 mins, during that time he ate not only the treat but the bowl of rice (phone intact :). Sigh.
Re: Here we go again.... My previous Labrador ate a very large quantity of several types of rice once when he broke into a box of pantry items during a house moving episode.... He pooed a lot of rice, which didn't look too different to how it went in. It didn't expand much. Just glad he didn't eat the phone.....

Re: Here we go again.... Oh no - I know this kind of fear only too well having just been though it with Tatze's lead eating incident. If you need to persuade her to drink, manuka honey melted into hot water water, then mixed with cold is good.
