When I left London, I popped Charlie in to see the dermatologist to check out his ears. Verdict was that the right one was getting a bit gunky with wax, which could do with cleaning out. He said if I wanted to, twice a week, in addition to the cleaner, to flush with a very dilute solution of hibiscrub. 1 to 100. So I make up 5ml of hibiscrub to 500ml of water. Charlie also has a scratch on his face. It was a lump (maybe a bite which he then scratched). And now it's a little sore looking bald patch about the size of a 20p coin. I pointed it out to the dermatologist who said it was nothing (probably a bite that he has scratched) and to bathe it with hibiscrub. It's a bit weepy. It's not getting any better (but no worse than when the dermatologist saw it). The dilution instructions are for Charlie's ear, the dermatologist didn't tell me what solution to use for the sore. I can't speak with him until Friday... So I was wondering whether you experienced people might share what you do with hibiscrub in terms of diluting it for a simple sore patch?
Re: hibiscrub Yep. Used hibiscrub aaaaall the time in the kennels, it was like a cure-all lol As Barbara says, 1 in 10 should be fine.
Re: hibiscrub Great, thanks. I did read the leaflet, which was about cleaning human skin the night before an operation. So that's no help. I'll try 1 in 10, thank you.
Re: hibiscrub Go with 1 to 10 as that sounds more accurate than what I was told by the vet to bathe murphys abscess which was wet some cotton wool, on finger, over end of hibiscrub bottle, tip it up and bathe ! :
Re: hibiscrub Thanks! It seems that it can be used neat as a skin sanitizer, so I suppose it's pretty safe...
Re: hibiscrub Use it neat. Get a chunk of damp cotton wool, wet the fur and sore area, pour some hibiscrub onto the cotton wool and massage gently into the sore. Leave it on for about 5 minutes then rinse off completely and dry as thoroughly as you can. Works like a charm!
