Hi just looking for a bit of advice!
I am looking to buy a pup and have two litters! Hip issues are a big consideration for me due to previously rescuing a GR who wasn’t hip scored.

    Amateur breeder
Bitch - described as having lots of character “crazy” - hip score 4:5
    Sire - hips 8:5
Due - Now - home October

    Professional breeder
    Bitch - 3rd place Crufts - hips 0:0
    Sire - hips 6:7 - English dog
Due (if pregnant soon)- October - home December

    Both same price £1100

Not sure what to go for! Am I thinking too much into the 8:5 being imbalanced etc

I would really appreciate a professional opinion on this as I have heard so many different opinions and some holding back on advice. I promise, you won’t be liable!!! I just really need the opinion of someone who knows and is confident in this breed.

    Thanks in advance!

p.s I know there is more to a dog than hips but trust me, when you have a 3yr old dog who can’t stand up THAT IS all that matters

Do you have the elbow scores as well? The professional breeder should have health tests for a lot of other important things like DM, CNM, EIC and eyes checked annually. The 8/5 is just about okay, ideally you'd like the score to be 12 and under but because the two numbers are within 3 (rather than 10/3 for example) I'd go with the pro breeder, they might be better for advice going forward as well.

On top of hip/elbow scores find out what the COI of the puppies will be(I.e how inbred they are) Information on the kennel club website. You need the pedigree names of bitch and dog.
