so Arnie had to spend the day by himself as we both worked and I thought it was about time. He's almost 7 months old now and really good. I am hoping I get home to an intact back yard, but I am not holding my breath. All I want him to leave alone are the sprinklers and my expensive irrigation system. I don't want to have to replace those parts.

He was home for about 7 - 8 hours and my wife left him with two stuffed kongs for breakfast and plenty of his toys in the yard.

I am on the train atm so I'll see what happened when I get home

Don't leave us hanging, do you still have an irrigation system? Or a garden on which to use it?

Hmmm..good luck - I think @JulieT has had "trouble" with her irrigation system....or am I doing Charlie a disservice?

Well well well... He did really well. No damage to nothing. I am pleasantly surprised.

I don't anticipate this an everyday occurrence tho. Tomorrow I am working a 12 hour stint, so it's gonna be tougher. Kicking myself now for not organising a walker at some point

A long time to leave a young dog, hope you are able to organise a walker soon.

Ha, I'm ok. I work 12 hours all the time, but I do 2 day shifts and then 2 night shifts. Then 4 days off At worst Arnie is only alone 2 days a week. And when my day shifts fall on weekends, my wife is always home. Perfect situation is I work day shift on Saturday and Sunday and then nights when my wife goes to work during the day at the start of the week. Then he's never alone.
